Verona

Veneto is a region with many facets, although largely overshadowed by Venice. In the north rise the magnificent Alpine mountains of the Dolomites, whose capital is Belluno. In the plains, splendid cities developed such as Padua, Vicenza and Verona. The coast borders the south-east of Veneto. It was amidst the waters of a lagoon that a city unique in the world was built, Venice, known as the “Most Serene”, whose republic dominated this territory for several centuries, not counting numerous trading posts in the Mediterranean. It deserves at least ten times over its inscription as a Unesco world heritage site.

Thus, besides the unforgettable romanticism of Venice, the region offers many travel possibilities, between the sea with its beaches and seaside resorts; the mountains and their ski resorts; its hills and numerous thermal spas; the Po delta with its Venetian villas; its historic and fortified towns; the small lakes or the great Lake Garda to the west, which is the largest lake in Italy.
