City centres in Italy: traffic and ZTL

ZTLMost city centres in Italy are ZTL (Limited Traffic Zones).
Traffic there is subject to conditions, and sometimes cameras monitor the entrances, identifying unauthorised number plates.

Here, traffic is prohibited (except with special permits) from Monday to Friday from 8am to 9:30am and from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Between 9:30am and 6:30pm, traffic alternates according to the parity of the number plate.

Other conditions are often encountered, such as evening restrictions on Fridays and Saturdays.
