Malcesine and the eastern shore between Brenzone and Torbole and Monte Baldo
Malcesine
Malcesine is a tourist village, with above all its intimidating Scaliger Castle which keeps watch over the shore from the top of its rocky spur, right at the edge of the lake, with its tall tower that can be seen from afar. It can be visited, housing in particular a Natural History Museum, and above all the tower from the top of which one looks out over the lake and the town.
The historic centre that developed in the Middle Ages is very touristy today, with many commercial shops, and also a discreet little harbour.
The Palazzo dei Capitani, in Venetian Gothic style, is the town hall, with its decorations and frescoes.
Not far from the centre towards the south, one of the pretty beaches is that of Val di Sogno with its charming bay.

Malcesine-Brenzone shore
South of Malcesine, the shore is made up of numerous small pebble beaches, easily accessible along the road, with sufficient parking. This road is bordered by a beautiful cycle path for several kilometres. The waters are beautiful and shallow, although often seeing heavy traffic of ducks and swans. There are quite a few rudimentary wooden jetties but with the mention “private property”, probably to encourage the water birds to go and defecate elsewhere.
At the hamlet of Cassone, the Avril river is the shortest in Italy, 175 metres long, passing under three bridges to the small harbour.
To the north, from Malcesine, the road is panoramic and superb, passing through Tempesta to Torbole.

Monte Baldo
The cable car of the Monte Baldo cableway allows a panoramic ascent up to 1760 metres altitude, with its small ski area, from which the view embraces in places the whole lake. It is also a good starting point for hiking in the fresh air, on trails more or less long.
Campo di Brenzone
Campo di Brenzone is a small village of medieval origin, half abandoned, nestled in the heart of the greenery of the slopes, in a dominant position over the lake. It is reached from Brenzone by a short walk of nearly 1 km. On its heights, the 13th-century church of San Pietro in Vincoli keeps frescoes by Giorgio Da Riva from 1358.
