From Moneglia to Bonassola

Moneglia

The charming village of Moneglia occupies a small bay on the Riviera di Levante between pretty cliffs. It is an old village, peaceful and with a pleasant atmosphere, quieter than many other places on the coast and without pretensions.
The village is pretty, picturesque and retains its authenticity with its fishermen.
It also has a beach of nearly 1 km, lined by the seafront promenade and its various facilities. To the north of it, La Secca beach is a quiet beach with its small bay.
Paths allow you to explore the coastal hills, exceeding 500 metres in altitude. The area is also well suited to diving.
Access by the coastal road passes through single-lane tunnels (both to the north and to the south), so it is controlled by traffic lights, with the wait sometimes approaching 15 minutes.

To the east of the village, the remains of Villafranca castle have a lovely position overlooking the sea, dating from the 12th century.
The church of San Giorgio, with its typical Genoese style and its facade striped with black and white bands, was built in the 12th century and modified in the 16th century.

Deiva Marina

Deiva Marina beach

Deiva Marina is appreciated above all for its large beach of sand and gravel, with beautiful, clean blue sea. The coastline is also equipped with numerous establishments and bars.
The ancient origin of Deiva can be found in the inland hamlets. The centre is typical of Liguria, with 18th-century villas, small squares, and houses in pastel colours with decorative details.

Bonassola and Framura

Just north of Levanto, there are two quiet villages in small coves, often overlooked in favour of the Cinque Terre. They are also well served by train, but also by beautiful paths, or by the lovely cycle path created on a 6 km stretch of disused railway line from Levanto. They are appreciated in particular for their quiet beaches and beautiful waters.
While Bonassola is a village set at the bottom of the cove, Framura brings together several hamlets at various heights on the hill, with the station and the intimate beach right at the bottom.
